Irish Whiskey Cocktail: The Copywriter

Instead of green beer or a whiskey shot, why not make a cocktail for St. Patrick’s Day! The Copywriter is a tall, cool whiskey lemonade that is enriched with honey and a little sweet vermouth.

Ingredients (makes one cocktail)

Honey Syrup:

1/2 ounce hot water

1/2 ounce honey

Cocktail:

2 ounces Irish whiskey

3/4 ounce freshly squeezed lemon juice

1/2 ounce Carpano Antica Sweet Vermouth

1/2 ounce honey syrup

chilled Seltzer

lemon twist garnish

Directions

For the honey syrup: Stir together hot water and honey until the honey dissolves

For the cocktail: Add whiskey, lemon, sweet vermouth, and honey syrup to a cocktail shaker and fill with ice. Shake until well-chilled, about 15 seconds. Strain into an ice-filled Collins glass. Top with seltzer and garnish with a lemon twist.
